The most important thing to remember about the second house is that it deals with self esteem. This is the house of values, and how we value ourselves is a very important part of that.

Planets in this house, or any other house, are an indication that this is one of the areas of your life that is highlighted. When there are no planets in a house we look to the sign on the cusp to see how this area of life is integrated. Do you fluctuate about how you feel about yourself, or do hold steady? The sign on the cusp can give us an indication when there are no planets present.

Values are more than just self esteem. This house also deals with things like your material possessions, how you spend your money, and your earned income itself. This is not the house where we look to see what kind of work we do, but how well we are compensated for it. It can even indicate whether we have a tendency to hold down more than one job at a time.

This house can also be an indicator of material debt.
