"What's your sign?" That was what everyone used to say, but we've learned that it's not just the Sun that has a sign, there are more planets in just as many more signs. Which one do we give them? Well, to be clear, we'd have to give them the signs of the Sun, Moon, and also the Ascendant. Those three will tell us the most, but not everything.

If the planets are the "actors" in our play, the signs are the "script". How the planets do what they do in the play of life is represented by the signs. Each sign responds differently to a given planet, or in a given house.

The signs react differently to each other too. Some signs get along really well, some not so good. There are planets that a given sign likes more than others too. When you have a planet in a sign that is compatible it's actions flow easier. On the other hand, if you have a planet in a sign that it's not crazy about it's actions can become stifled or difficult to use. Being aware of which planets are operating smoothly and which ones aren't helps us to see which things in our lives are more difficult for us to integrate.

Another indication of whether a Sign will operate smoothly with another is to look at the Element. There are four elements; Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Fire gets along well with fire, it also gets along with Air. If you think about it in very basic terms it's very easy to get a handle on the Elements. Adding fire to an actual fire creates more fire, and so does adding air. However, adding Earth to a fire will only put it out. The same goes with adding water. If you add Air to Earth you get dust, add water to Air and you just get bubbles.
