Uranus

The Winds of Change

Originally called Herschel after it's discoverer in 1781, the name was later changed to Uranus which is more in keeping with the mythological theme of the other planets. The glyph is represented by a stylized "H" to honor the man who discovered it.

The rings around the planet were a shock and surprise to some and were quite unexpected. A typical introduction for the planet of change, sudden change being one of it's favorite modes of operation.

Uranus is the first of the "generational" planets, taking about 84 years to get through one cycle of the zodiac. That leaves it in each sign for approximately 7 years.

Uranus' placement in a chart shows where one has a tendency to be original, or unusual. It is the rogue of the zodiac, the humanitarian with the soul of an adventurer.
